First Grade
Room 11

Hello! I am so excited to be continuing my teaching journey at Masters! This is my 6th year in OPS, 8th year teaching altogether. I have previously taught second grade in another OPS school and at the middle school level in Arizona. I am excited to teach first grade again at Masters.

I am originally from Hebron, Nebraska (Home of the World's Largest Covered Porch Swing) and
graduated from University of Nebraska-Lincoln with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am certified in Primarily Math, graduate courses focused on enhancing students' learning in mathematics.  I completed my masters this summer. I have a small, hyper dog named Bynz and we enjoy playing frisbee and going for walks.  I am thrilled to have your child in my class this year and look forward to a fun academic year!

The theme for my classroom this year is “Adventures Awaits You”  I love to travel. It is through traveling that I learn more about people and our world. I want to instill in my students that they can go anywhere and be anything as long as they are willing to put in the effort to get to their final destination.  Learning in itself is an adventure and I am happy to be your child’s park ranger during their time in first grade. Everyday we will journey to someplace new, learning something that leads us to where we want to go.

Since you are your child’s most important teacher, I hope you are ready to collaborate with me and help your children become conquerers of their education. To better collaborate please consider signing up for Class Dojo (more information and sign in to come) to check on your child’s progress throughout the year and keep up to date with the happenings of first grade. Please also make sure your child comes prepared with their correct luggage. That being having a healthy breakfast, making sure homework is complete, 8-10 hours of sleep a night and asking your child what they learned every day. Together we can make your child a trail blazer and provide a solid foundation of character and academics for years to come. I hope you join me in this adventure.
