My name is Carlye Kuxhausen and I am currently in my second year as a school counselor at Masters Elementary School. I am a proud graduate of the University of Nebraska- Lincoln and the University of Nebraska- Kearney. I received my Bachelor's in Child, Youth, and Family Studies and my Master's in School Counseling. I have a deep passion for helping others and lifelong learning.

My role as a school counselor focuses on serving all student's social/emotional, academic, and career development needs. My theoretical orientation to counseling is a solution-focused brief therapy, focusing on an individual's present, future circumstances, and goals. I teach guidance lessons once a week in each classroom. I meet with students individually and conduct small social skills groups. I also support students and families by providing them with connections to community resources and outside referrals. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the school counseling program.
